PCPS

BAM uses LiDAR data to create detailed maps of road surfaces for preventative maintenance; but their process was limited by the manual steps needed to process the raw data into a usable point cloud. Mindhash implemented a Point Cloud Processing Service (PCPS) for BAM.

The PCPS service allows BAM to easily upload, process and store LiDAR data using the processing power of the Azure Cloud and accessible using a intuitive and simple web application which provides a useful 3D view of the data.

The interface enables management of projects, viewing current status of data that is currently being processed, and viewing the point cloud of the processed files. Some metrics of the inserted GPS files are also modifiable. Working with LiDAR data this way is easy, because it saves the user a lot of time on understanding and converting LiDAR files.
